What are some reasons for going to therapy?
At Flora, the belief is that people heal, grow, and thrive through connection with oneself and others. Counselling Therapy can be a way to foster this connection, and not only in times of need. Therapy can also be a pathway to empowerment- a way to unlock potential. So, at Flora, clients seek support in many areas, including (but not limited to):
Forming & Maintaining Healthy Relationships
Identity Exploration & Connection (addressing issues related to self-esteem, self-worth, self-compassion, & personal agency)
Healing from Relationship Injuries, Burnout, Overwhelm, and/or Disconnection
Resolving Internal Conflicts & Emotional Dilemmas
Alleviating Symptoms of Anxiety & Depression
Developing a healthier relationship with food and body
Emotional Regulation
Navigating Loss & Grief
Moving through Life Transitions (Marriage, Parenthood, Divorce, Job Loss, Career Changes, etc.)
Self-Care & Personal Growth
& More
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. One form of therapy might mesh well with one but not resonate at all with someone else. Knowing this, my therapeutic approach is integrated- meaning I pull from various attachment and strength-based interventions so that I can tailor sessions to your specific needs. That said, the main therapeutic modality I pull from is Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT).
EFIT sessions often include therapeutic work that:
Deepens understanding of past patterns
Increases capacity to change the patterns that keep you stuck in painful emotions
Cultivates self-awareness of (and positive connection to) your emotional world
Strengthens relationships with those who matter most (including yourself)
and Fosters emotional balance and harmony
You can expect the following session lengths:
A no-charge, no-obligation consultation (approx. 20 minutes)
An initial intake session (approx. 75 minutes).
Therapy Sessions (approx. 50 minutes)
If you have any questions or curiosities, or simply would like to book your complimentary consultation appointment, reach out today.
What can I expect from our sessions together?
I believe in offering accessible counselling sessions. This is why at Flora Counselling Therapy I offer virtual counselling sessions through a secure, Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) approved electronic platform. This means that by eliminating travel costs, time, and stress, your sessions at Flora are located wherever they are most convenient and comfortable for you.
Where are you located?
No Charge Consult: Having a positive connection with your therapist is an essential element to your therapeutic progress. This is why I offer a no-charge, no-obligation consultation to explore your hopes for therapy and discuss what your therapeutic journey might look like. If we feel we might be a good fit for each other, we move forward and book your intake session.
$150 per session: Counselling Therapy is a tax-free service, covered by many insurance companies. If you would like to use insurance, please check with your provider(s) about your specific plan’s coverage.
Payment can be made via Credit Card or e-transfer. At this time, Flora Counselling Therapy does not offer direct billing to insurance providers; however, we do provide detailed receipts for reimbursement after each session.
What are your fees?
